The Islamic University in Uganda, Females’ Campus was established in 2008 as a 4th Campus of IUIU intended exclusively for female students. It is situated at Kabojja, Wakiso District, off Masaka Road, one mile from Nateete Town.

The rationale for establishing a Females’ Campus was to increase access to Higher Education for the female students from English speaking African countries.

Its location offers a conducive learning environment for the female students and it is endowed with sports and recreational facilities. Faculties The Campus has five faculties.

Faculty of Law (FOL), Faculty of Education (FOE), Faculty of Science (FOS), Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences (FASS) and Faculty of Management Studies (FMS)

 The campus started with a pioneer student population of 440 students from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Somalia and Iran.

As we all know, back then girl child education was not seen as that much important and most of the parents had a tendency of forcing girls into early marriages.

But, with the establishment of IUIU Females’ Campus, girl-child education is now a priority to many parents across the country and it has helped to reduce early marriages and teenage pregnancy.

The campus’s vision is to create a generation of strong, confident, and self-reliant women who would become leaders and change-makers in their communities.

IUIU Females Campus Kaboja firmly believes that education is the key to unlocking endless possibilities and that every girl, regardless of her background, deserves access to quality education.

To fulfill its mission and vision, the campus implements various initiatives and programs tailored to the unique needs of its students. Scholarships are awarded to talented young women who face financial barriers, ensuring that no deserving student is left behind.

The curriculum is designed to foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, empowering the students to face the challenges of the modern world.

Beyond academics, the campus provides a supportive and inclusive environment, nurturing the holistic development of its students. Life skills workshops, mentoring programs, and extracurricular activities were carefully integrated into the curriculum, fostering personal growth, self-expression, and leadership qualities among the girls.

The campus believes in instilling values of equality, respect, and social responsibility, encouraging the students to become agents of positive change.

IUIU Females Campus Kaboja has become a role model for other girls and institutions, inspiring them to prioritize girl child education and empowerment. Its alumni, now successful professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders, attributed their accomplishments to the transformative education they receive. The impact of the campus extended far beyond its physical boundaries, leaving an indelible mark on society and shattering stereotypes about the potential of women.

IUIU Females Campus Kaboja apart from other institutions offers practical education. Recognizing the importance of vocational skills, the campus offered courses like tailoring, which empowers girls with the ability to create and market their own fashion designs. The students are not only educated in theory but are given the opportunity to develop practical skills that will equip them for success in the real world.

One of the campus’s most remarkable initiatives is the “Run for the Girl Child.” This annual event brings together the entire community, from students to local residents, in support of the needy girls.

Participants ran through the streets, raising funds and awareness for girl child education. The event garnered immense support, with sponsors and well-wishers joining hands to contribute to the cause.

The funds raised during the “Run for the Girl Child” are channeled towards supporting the needy girls at IUIU Females Campus Kaboja.

Scholarships are awarded to girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to pursue their studies without worrying about financial barriers. The event also aimed to highlight the success stories of girls who had graduated from the campus and achieved remarkable accomplishments in their lives.

Every year, during the event, IUIU Females Campus Kaboja invited successful alumni to share their stories. These accomplished women served as inspiring role models, showcasing that education was indeed the key to success. They shared tales of resilience, determination, and how the campus had provided them with a strong foundation for their journey toward greatness.

According to Namutebi Sharifa who works as a marketeer at IUIU Females Campus Kabojja, the university has helped her accomplish her studies by providing her a scholarship since she couldn’t afford her tuition.

IUIU Females Campus Kabojja’s unwavering dedication to girl child education has transformed the lives of countless girls. Through practical courses, scholarships, and community support, the campus has become a beacon of hope, inspiring young girls to dream big and providing them with the tools to turn those dreams into reality. It is a place where girls can flourish, empowered with knowledge, skills, and the belief that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
