Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives mandated to coordinate the elaboration of standards and quality of products and services so as to facilitate fair trade, promote local industries and protect consumers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Actively monitor the implementation of internal controls across UNBS departments and functions in line with Internal Audit Professional Practices and UNBS policies.
· Prepare and send regular Audit reports to help in communicating and interpreting the results of audit activities to relevant UNBS administrative and oversight organs.
· Ensure an efficient and effective audit approach to audit assignments undertaken
· Carry out value for money review on key activities of UNBS
· Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Audit Management/UNBS Management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant should preferably hold an Honours degree in either Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, Auditing, Finance or other relevant business courses
· Possession of a professional qualification in accounting or auditing.
· At least three years’ experience in a reputable organization, international agency or Government Ministry, Department or Agency
· Computer literacy skills i.e. proficient in the use of computer – Ms Word and Excel, and able to use the Internet
· The incumbent should be a member of the professional Accounting body.
· Age: 25 – 35 years
