Job Title: Business Development Manager – New Products

NFT Consult, a leading HR Consultancy firm, seeks to recruit for it valuable client, Uganda Baati is a leading manufacturer of Covermax, Corrugated Sheets, Box profile sheets and Premium tile profiled sheets among other products. Uganda Baati has significant plans for maintaining and growing its market position within the Great Lakes region and Southern Sudan. NFT Human Resource Solutions are customer tailored per industry requirements and are geared towards increased cost savings, process improvement leading to improved efficiency and effectiveness yet simultaneously strengthening quality and control of resources.

Job Summary: The applicant will serve as the driving force behind generating new sales leads and contacts, a business development manager will identify sales leads, pitch goods or services to new clients and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings.
  • Responsible for planning and preparing presentations (e.g use of PowerPoint).
  • Marketing and promoting new product developments to prospective clients.
  • Participate the development of marketing literature, promotions, adverts etc.
  • Offering management with feedback.
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options;
  • Resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations;
  • Examining risks and potentials; estimating partners’ needs and goals.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities;
  • Reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Writing timely and routine reports.
  • Organise and participate in trade shows within the region.
  • Plan for ordering of new products.
  • Develop and entrust implementation of strategies to market and promote new products.
  • Manage team of technical sales subordinates.
  • Create inquiries on potential orders with particular emphasis on new products.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The candidate should Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management/ Business Administration;
  • Qualifications as an added advantage: Supervisory management training
  • Professional registration: Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) – optional
  • At least eight (8) years’ substantial experience in manufacturing industry, sales & marketing experience.
  • Five years’ experience of which, practically served at senior supervisory level
  • Industry: Heavy Manufacturing Industry: Roofings & Steel, Cement, Building & construction, Paint.
