Fraternity members at Kabale University were left in a state of profound shock and grief when news spread about the untimely demise of their fellow student, Joab Arinda, at the young age of 23.

The incident occurred on Monday at Kitumba Trading Center in Kabale, where Joab was tragically struck by a speeding vehicle in a hit-and-run accident.

The Kigezi Region Police swiftly confirmed the incident as a fatal hit-and-run accident, adding a sense of urgency to the case. Joab, a dedicated student in his second year pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness, hailed from Nyakambu Cell in the Southern division of Kabale Municipality.

Reports indicate that he was attempting to cross the road while returning from his internship activities, along the Katuna-Kabale direction when the accident occurred.
