organization. RHSP strives to improve the quality of life of the local population through a combination of
community based research, curative services and prevention strategies in the district s of South central
Uganda.
Laboratory Technologist
POSITION: 1
Duty Station: KALISIZO
Job Summary
The Laboratory Technologist will be involved in all Laboratory procedures in the RHSP Laboratory at Kalisizo Station. He/ She will be required to conform to Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP) guidelines. The RHSP laboratory does automated and/or manual assays in the fields of chemistry, molecular biology, flow cytometry, hematology, microbiology and serology. .

Job Responsibilities
• Perform analytical work for both research and clinical management purposes.
• Receipt and processing of samples including long term archival.
• Do preventive and scheduled maintenance of equipment
• Collection of different types of samples including phlebotomy
• Write Standard Operating Procedures
• Manage laboratory logistic s
• Any other official duty as may be assigned by management

Job Skills: Not Specified

Knowledge and Experience
• A bachelor’s in Biomedical laboratory technology or related courses from a recognized institution.
• At least 2 years of experience in a clinical/research multi-disciplinary laboratory.
• Training in SLMTA, Biosafety and Laboratory Quality Management System is an added advantage.
• Demonstrate skills in professional code of conduct and ethics
• Self-motivated and able to work under minimum supervision.
• Pleasant, social, hardworking, flexible, with a spirit of team work/building.

Job Education Requirements: bachelor’s in Biomedical laboratory technology

Job Experience Requirements: 2 years
