The college of health sciences Makerere University lost its fourth-year student Ashraf Nsubuga.

Ashraf was pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences in Medical Radiology and he was in his fourth year.

Ashraf Nsubuga committed suicide inside White House, an extension of Nsibirwa Hall at Makerere University where they found his body hanging on a rope tied on the door of his room.

The incident occurred on 29th of September 2019 when Nsubuga’s roommate had gone to church for prayers

Makerere and Wandegeya police after they had received the news, immediately visited the scene and conveyed the body to the Mulago Hospital mortuary for post-mortem

According to police investigation based on information on ground says “Ashraf Nsubuga was in debts which pressurized hence committing suicide

Some students allege that he was involved in online network marketing, where he lost close to Shs18 million to a Ponzi scheme.

Julius Kateregga Makerere University guild added that by the time Ashraf’s roommate got back he found the door locked and tried peeping through the window only to see someone hanging.

A case was opened at Makerere Police under the file SD 08/29/2018 for follow up.
