The Government is going to open a new medical school at Busitema University.

Busitema University is thus calling for qualified students to apply for the new courses that will be taught in the Medical School.
The new courses in medicine have been accredited by the National Council for Higher Education.
New medical courses include:
  • A five year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery to be tenable at Mbale Campus.
  • A three year Bachelor of Science Education in the disciplines of Entrepreneurship and Economics tenable at Nagongera Campus.
  • A two year Diploma in Computer Engineering tenable at Busitema Campus.
  • A three year Diploma in Education Primary

Deadline for submitting completed application forms is 21st August 2013

Busitema university new medical school will bring the number of Government Medical schools to four. Government Medical schools in Uganda include the one at Makerere University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Gulu University.
