Anna’s victory makes her the forth female Guild president at Makerere and she takes over from Ivan Kata.

She was the only lady among seven other ‘bulls’ in the hot race. Anna beat her closest challenger, Boniface Okot of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) who walked away with 2,718 votes (25.03%).

Martin Ssegawa of Democratic Party got 1,313 votes (12.01%) , Musa Byamaka, an independent got 104 votes (0.97%). Conservative Party’s Ronald Wandera had 59 votes (0.

54%).

Other amazing candidates in the race walked away with votes less than the number of campaigning agents they had.

Like Martin Twinamasiko got 24 votes, Kokas Okello with 15 votes and only 13 voters sympathized with Ssekkonge Isaac. Thus Isaac won himself the last position.

Allan Akankwatsa who served as the Chairman Electoral Commission said that the process was free and fair. He said that out of 10,949 total votes, 988 votes were invalid.

“Thank you Makerere. I am so delighted. Thanks for the support, votes and love. I will never let you down. Thanks a great deal”, Joyful President elect, Anna Adeke Ebaju says

Students at Makerere University are still cerebrating the landslide victory of Anna as their next Guild president.

Most students believe that Anna will come up with motherly policies that will wipe out their tears.

  1. keep me posted for this is the future of our country. alas to those who think bribery and rigging earn one victory. That muwala Anna sorry Her Excellency the Guild President restore a sense of moral inclination among the chaotic students of Makerere. They should remember that the shame is not to their parents but to Uganda since its our first Public University. Gone are the days of Bismarck’s blood and Iron ideology, the times of today call for reasoning and that is why you’ve been able to trounce over gents in this contest. Its time to work and not seat back enjoying privileges. For God and My Country May you lead Makerere with Wisdom. and always remember fear and be thankful to your God.
