Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out preventive mechanical repairs on company vehicles as assigned.
  • Service vehicles following a schedule set by the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Carry out corrective maintenance on company vehicles.
  • Advise Fleet Maintenance Supervisor on required spare parts.
  • Modifying some auto parts where required.
  • Carry out periodical preventive maintenance on company vehicles as assigned.
  • Identify and rectify electrical faults on company vehicles.
  • Repair faulty electrical systems on vehicles.
  • Advise Fleet Maintenance Officer on required spare parts.
  • Prepare report on repairs done following procedures outlined by the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor (job card).
  • Check for and maintain proper wiring on vehicle systems.
  • Keep mechanical tools and equipment allocated under safe custody.
  • To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a diploma in Auto Mechanics or an equivalent is desirable.
  • At least three years of relevant experience is required
  • Ability to work independently in carrying out assignments to completion.
  • Effective Verbal and written communication.
  • Professional personal presentation,
  • Customer service orientation skills.
  • Considerable ability to adhere to prescribed routines and practices; and compose effective and accurate correspondence.
  • Dealing with non-routine matters, such as special projects, with minimum specific instructions.
  • Decision making skills is required.
