About JMS:

Joint Medical Store (JMS) is a Church founded private Not-For-Profit organization whose mission is to supply medicines, medical equipment and related healthcare services, and training of assured quality to the people of Uganda at affordable prices.

Job Summary: The Joint Medical Store (JMS) Stores Assistant will be in charge of carrying out various warehouse tasks including physical receipt, verification, and put away of in-bound consignments; pick, check and loading of out-bound consignments and any assigned routine housekeeping warehouse activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Intuitively verify and put away inbound consignments.
  • Pick customer consignment as assigned by the relevant team leader.
  • Pick, check and pack out bound consignments.
  • Move items to assigned storage areas within warehouse.
  • Ensure that all operational areas are tidy.

  • Load on to trucks consignment that has been released by the dispatch officer.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidates for the Stores Assistant should hold a Diploma in Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Business Administration, Commerce or Stores and Logistics Management.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in the above fields or professional qualification in supplies and logistics management e.g. CIPS is an added advantage.
  • One year’s work experience in a relevant busy business environment.

  • Practical work experience in inventory management and using computerized warehouse management system is an added advantage.
  • Highly dependable, honest, impeccable integrity
  • Good team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with figures and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to read, correctly interpret work instructions and meet strict deadlines
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email.
