Makerere University Unleashes The Hult Prize Challenge 2019

As the host of the 2019 local edition of the Hult Prize challenge 2019, Makerere University has officially opened the competitions.

Student competitors are expected to team up in groups of three to four and exhibit their start-up solutions in the period of two weeks.
The winning team will have an opportunity to compete in the grand global finale for the US$1 million start-up funding. 
At the local level, prizes of over US$ 1million approximately Shillings 3.7billion are up for grabs.
The Makerere University Campus Hult Prize Director,Silver Walugembe said 40 students have registered so far and called upon all students and teams to use the opportunity to sell their innovative ideas.
The  Challenge tackling youth unemployment targets 200 teams where each will come up with a proposal that would provide meaningful jobs to the lives of 10 million people by 2025.
The Hult Prize was established in 2010 by Ahmad Ashkar and Bertil Hult, and is an annual, year-long competition that crowd-sources ideas from MBA and college students after challenging them to solve a pressing social issue around topics such as food security, water access, energy, and education
