JOB DETAIL

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has secured funding from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) through the City Wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) grant for the Sanitation Inclusive Program (Phase 3). The funding is intended to upscale faecal sludge management services in Kampala through catalytic investments. In this phase, there will be need to scale up the demand and supply for improved sanitation services. This is to be achieved through a number of interventions including the construction of model public toilets and the implementation of the sanitation marketing Strategies.

Academic Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in either Business Administration (Marketing Option), or Commerce (Marketing Option), or International Relations or Economics from a recognized University or Institution of higher learning.
  2. Specialized training in Marketing and Brand management is an added advantage

Experience

  1. A minimum of two (2) Consecutive years working related assignments in Government or from a reputable organization.

Competencies (Technical and Behavioral)

  1. A minimum of two (2) Consecutive years working related assignments in Government or from a reputable organization.
  2. Demonstrated ability in community mobilization
  3. Management of awareness creation and mass sensitization programs
  4. Demonstrated knowledge in market assessments and research
  5. Behavioral Change Communication (BCC)

Key Result Areas:

  1. Implementing the program-wide Sanitation marketing strategy including behavioral change, technology solutions, community mobilization and community level communication activities to create demand for sanitation services.
  2. Strengthening relationships and cooperation with community level WASH networks, WASH program partners and stakeholders
  3. Lead capacity building of community volunteers, local masons or constructors and other stakeholders.
  4. Designing and monitoring the implementation of regular market research and surveys
  5. Identification and formation of partnerships with organizations with outreach and capacity for Behavioral Change and Communication (BCC).
  6. Support the development and dissemination of BCC and sanitation information, educational and communication (IEC) materials including promotional materials, videos, etc.
  7. Create appropriate marketing messages and promotional strategies to market sanitation services to communities.
