Bobi Wine arrested and driver shot dead in Arua

Kyadondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu has reportedly been arrested and his driver known as Yasin Kawuma shot dead in Arua.

 Kyagulanyi who is in Arua to campaign for independent Candidate Kassiano Wadri in a by-election to replace the killed Abiriga went on to confirm his hotel has been cordoned off by Police.

NTV’s reporter Herbert Zziwa who is at the scene has confirmed that indeed someone was shot in Bobi Wine’s Car.

Reports reveal that commotion started as different candidates were marching to their respective offices with supporters after campaign rallies ahead of Wednesday by-election to choose Arua Municipality Member of Parliament.

On Dorcus Inzikuru Street, supporters of Mr Kassiano Wadri, an Opposition leaning candidate, were marching ahead of supporters of Ms Nusura Tiperu, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate that tempeted police to fire live bullets.

WestNile Police Spokesperson Josephine Angucia says Yasin Kawuma could have been hit by a stray bullet as police tried to clear the way for President Yoweri Museveni’s convoy.
