FDC’s Paul Kato voted Makerere University Guild President 2017/2018

Kato Paul (R) is the newly elected Guild President, Makerere university

Kato Paul has been voted Makerere university Guild President for the year 2017/2018 according to results announced by Otuku Isaac, the chairperson electoral commision.

He won with 5,205 votes to beat 13 other contestants in the guild race.

He is a second year student of Education.

He becomes the 83rd Guild President of Makerere university.

Zilitwawula Abdul Kareem became second with 4,369 votes while Lakisa Marcy Faith was third with 1,569 votes.

The flag bearer for the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Nsubuga Ruth got 110 votes.

“Am greatly aware of the Caretaker Government’s efforts to have a smooth transition and am proud to be part of this. Congratulations once again”, Roy Ssembogga, the outgoing Makerere University Guild president wrote in his congratory message on facebook.

Kato takes over from Roy Ssembogga who has been heading the 82nd Guild Government.

Kato attended Lubili High where he served as the Head prefect, the former General Secretary Uganda National Students’ Association (UNSA).
