Makerere University Vice Chancellor Prof. Nawangwe Hints on Possibility of Re-opening with Online Education

Makerere University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe has hinted on the possibility of the university re-opening with online education.

This was revealed in his communication to the student community on the state of affairs including resumption of face-to-face teaching at the oldest public university in Uganda.

He also talked about internship/industrial training.

The Vice Chancellor’s communication was in form of a video that was posted on the University twitter account on Thursday 6th August 2020.

All educational institutions in Uganda were ordered by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to close in March 2020 after the outbreak of COVID 19.

As of August 9th 2020, Uganda had registered seven (7) Covid 19 deaths, 1,283 cumulative confirmed cases and 1,115 recoveries according to the Uganda health ministry.
