MTN Uganda has supported the Masaka Diocese with UGX 20 million that is to be used to organize the 2021 Martyrs Day Celebrations on 3rd June at the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine.
MTN has always supported the church when it comes to such activities and this year, they still did the same.
Initially, Masaka diocese was selected by the Uganda Episcopal Conference to organize the 2020 celebrations but this did not happen as planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The good news is that the diocese has been given the same responsibility this year.
MTN Uganda has come up to support Masaka Diocese in organizing the 2021 Martyrs Day celebrations with UGX 20 million.
In adherence to the standard operating procedures in place, few people will be invited to Namugongo Shrine.
This doesn’t mean that the rest of the faithful will miss out on the celebrations.
MTN Uganda also went ahead to partner with Bukedde TV which will support the broadcast of activities commemorating the celebrations.
The Masaka Diocese Bishop, Serverus Jjumba thanked MTN Uganda for its continued support towards the church.
“We are honored that by the Grace of God, you have come all the way to support and stand with us as we commemorate this very important day on the Christian calendar. We also find great comfort in the fact that you will support the church in carrying the message and spirit of the celebrations to our brothers and sisters who might not attend the celebrations physically. I pray that God continues to give you the grace to be your brothers keepers,” said Bishop Jjumba
The Bishop also recited a prayer blessing the company.
