Over fifty(50) Makerere University fourth year journalism students participated in the Multimedia Journalism and Digital safety training that was conducted by Ultimate Multimedia.
The two weeks training took place in the Department of Journalism and Communication(DJCO) Upper lab and in the last week, participants pitched their stories to a panel of judges.
Twenty(20) stories made it to the finals and received facilitation to develop their stories that were later published and presented.
The best two stories developed by Elvis Lubanga and Taaka Conslata won smartphones and tripod stands to enable them further their multimedia experiences.
Two best social media influences received power-banks as a reward for their extended efforts in tweeting about the training making the #MyMultimediaStoryTelling harshtag to trend.
The workshop was part of the University trainings sponsored by the US Mission that targets atleast 60 students well equipped with multimedia skills.
